Beauty Hacks 101 - Tweezerfile
**Disclaimer: This post contains products that were kindly gifted for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an unpaid advertisement. All opinions are my own**
It's 2021, we are still in lockdown and with everything closed here in the UK, we have spent a lot of time over the past year trying to find ways to maintain our beauty routines without being able to go to a beauty therapist for our regular treatments. With that comes the development of useful beauty hacks to make life a little easier and one of them is Tweezerfile. I have to admit, I have never considered the fact that tweezers can go dull or that you can file them to bring them back to life. If they stop working you just get a new pair right? Now obviously that way of thinking is wasteful and definitely not environmentally friendly. So Tweezerfile seems like the perfect solution! But why has nobody thought of it before? I caught up with founder Lucy Zender to find out more. Let's meet Lucy!

Review: Peeling Marin Treatment at Moorhall Hotel & Spa + Thalgo Aftercare
**Disclaimer: This post contains products that were kindly gifted for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an unpaid advertisement. All opinions are my own**
Earlier this year (before lockdown!), I was invited by Moorhall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield to come in for the Thalgo Peeling Marin Treatment. A set of three exfoliating sessions that claims to give you that "new skin effect" visible from the first treatment. Now that is a strong claim to make so of course, I had to check it out! Did the treatments and aftercare live up to their promise? Read on and find out.

Can One Test Give You A Full Skincare Routine?
**Disclaimer: This post contains products that were kindly sent to me for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an advertisement. All opinions are my own**
Skincare. I think most of us know by now that some sort of skincare routine is essential to keep your skin looking the best it can. But how do you know what to use? There are so many things to choose from and unless you're reasonably clued up on how skincare ingredients work and more importantly what it is your skin needs, it can be quite overwhelming. Sure, you can go visit a beauty therapist who can analyse your skin. But what if there was a simple test you could do from the comfort of your own home that analyses your skin and gives you tailored recommendations on what products to use in just 20 minutes? Hard to believe right? In this post I am reviewing the Hauto Self Skin Test. Is it all that it promises? Read on and find out.

An Evening With Carrie Gross CEO Of Dr Dennis Gross Skincare + New Launch!
**Disclaimer: I was kindly invited to the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare press evening at Selfridges Birmingham with no obligation to post. This post contains affiliate links**
Sometimes you have one of those days where you have a sudden change of plans. I have to admit, I am normally not great with sudden changes, but when you get invited to an evening of Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare with CEO Carrie Gross, you better clear your schedule! On the 30th of January I had the pleasure of learning all about the brand, a brand that is quite new to me as I had not tried their products, so I figured it would be the right thing to do to talk to you guys about Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare and share some information, so here we go.

Why Sugaring At Home Is Better Than Waxing
**Disclaimer: This post contains products that were kindly sent to me for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an advertisement. All opinions are my own**
Oh hello there! I am finally treating you to the first blog post of 2020. It's about time, isn't it? Now before I fill you in on my 2019 beauty faves (I like to reflect in January), I wanted to share something else with you first. Something I've never really posted about before. I bet you're asking yourself what it could be, but it's probably nowhere near as interesting or exciting as what you are imagining right now! For me, the start of 2020 was marked as 'overcoming your fears', so I decided to take the plunge and sugar my armpits! What a weird thing to say, but let me explain.
When it comes to hair removal, I am all about waxing my legs. A few years ago, I decided to try and wax my armpits because otherwise you keep shaving every other day and it leaves that dark area that doesn't look nice etc. But boy, bad idea!! Oh my goodness, it was so painful and my skin was so red and almost bruised after that, that I didn't ever dare doing it again. Even the thought of it alone scared me, but then I learned about sugaring and decided to give it a go. But what is sugaring? Read all about it in this post and find out how I got on.

Five Cleansing Balms You Need For Dry Winter Skin
**Disclaimer: This post contains products that were kindly sent to me for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an advertisement, aswell as products that were purchased by myself. All opinions are my own. All links in this post are affiliate links**
Cleansing balms. I absolutely love them! They are travel-friendly, melt makeup off like nothing else and isn't that smooth texture, that magically turns into an oil, just the most satisfying thing ever?! I'm all here for them and this winter, you should be too as indoor heating and the outdoor cold tend to dry out our skin. As there are many cleansing balms to choose from these days, I totally get it if you're feeling a little overwhelmed right now. That's why I am giving you my top 5 cleansing balms which will hopefully give you a good idea. Happy reading! 😊

The Inkey List: Affordable AND Effective?
**Disclaimer: This post contains products that were kindly sent to me for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an advertisement. All opinions are my own**
I don't think it's a secret that most of us want great skin without any blemishes, full of radiance and perhaps minimal signs of ageing. But with such an enormous amount of products out there, I find that skincare, and finding a routine that works for you, can be at times very overwhelming. Perhaps you're not sure where to start. Relatively new brand The Inkey List have addressed the issue and are keeping things simple, from their packaging to the products. Their motto:
"Quality ingredients made simple"
They have taken 15 of the most wanted and potent ingredients in skincare, with the aim to make them accessable and affordable. But does making them affordable mean that the quality suffers or have they really hit a gap in the market, proving that great skincare doesn't have to break the bank? I tested out four of their products, so let's read on and find out.

Mask Time: Affordable Korean Sheet Mask Subscription Box
**Disclaimer: The products in this post were kindly sent to me for the purpose of review and are therefore listed as an advertisement. All opinions are my own**
Anyone who is a little into their beauty will have seen them everywhere, beauty subscription boxes are a huge hit! Not only is it a great way to try out new products without splurging, but it also reminds you to have a good old pamper every once in a while! Most boxes I've seen contain either makeup, skincare or a mix of both. But what if you could get a box filled with Korean sheet masks? Korean sheet masks contain all the goodness but can be hard to get your hands on. Fear not, Mask Time has got you covered!

Review: Procoal Marine Moisture Mask [AD]
When it comes to weekend indulgence, I like to take some 'me time' to relax, think about self care and have a little pamper. As my weekdays usually consist of a face full of makeup (although I have to admit these have been pretty rare since having a baby!), I like to go makeup free and do a bit of skincare Sunday. What better way to do this than with a face mask? I love trying out new masks and this time I have a review for you of the Procoal Marine Moisture Mask (£13.99 per pack of three), a hydrating charcoal sheet mask. Is it any good, and does the charcoal add anything? Read on and find out!

Pixi Beauty: The Skincare Edit [AD]
This post contains gifted items as part of an ongoing relationship with Pixi Beauty, as well as items I have purchased myself. All opinions however are 100% my own.
Hello 2019! By the time I am writing this, we are starting February so surely that means I am way too late with saying Happy New Year right?! Well, fact is we are in 2019, a new year, which usually means starting off with a mountain of new year's resolutions. I personally don't do them but it's hard to avoid the heaps of adverts about being healthy, getting fit and let's not forget all the numerous dating sites.
Although I don't place myself in any of these boxes, it doesn't mean I can't jump on the bandwagon of wanting to be healthier and sorting out a good skincare routine plays a big part in that. Last year I spent the majority of the year being pregnant and with that comes naturally glowing skin which is pretty low maintenance. This time however, I am finding myself going back to the issues I had before: tired skin, puffy bags under my eyes and redness on my cheeks. Over the years I have tried many brands, creams and other skincare but there haven't been many items my skin agreed with until I tried Pixi Beauty. Last year I was incredibly lucky to get the opportunity to collaborate with them and try out some of their products, so it's only fair that I dedicate this blog post to Pixi and share with you the products I am currently loving.

Lacura by Aldi Skincare: To Dupe or Not To Dupe
Over the past few weeks, Instagram has gone crazy over the new range of Lacura Skincare items Aldi has been stocking in its stores. Now, we can all appreciate a good bargain and in this day and age for a lot of us, it is about saving pennies where we can. But a supermarket releasing a skincare range, can that be any good? And what if this supermarket pushes the boundaries with packaging so similar to that of bigger, more renouned, luxury skincare brands? When does an item become a dupe? In this post, I am directly comparing Aldi dupes to the 'real thing', considering packaging and ingredients, whilst reviewing the product itself.

BeGlow TIA: All-In-One Sonic Skincare System
When it comes to skincare, cleansing and taking my makeup off at the end of the day, I look for the best of the best. One of the main causes of ageing skin and breakouts is not cleansing properly and allowing pores to get clogged up. But what is the best way to take off the day? Well, that depends on what you want and prefer. You can use a cleansing routine with your hands, wipes or cotton pads, but there are also some electrical or sonic cleansers that can assist you in removing even the smallest residues of makeup, the stuff that we often can't see. One of these sonic cleansers is the BeGlow TIA.

Coventry Bloggers × The Body Shop
Just over a week ago, I attended a blogger event at The Body Shop in Coventry to hear more about their new launches of this season. Now I have been using products from The Body Shop as long as I can remember. It was definitely a brand I grew up with in the Netherlands, always carrying a tub of their lip balm in my bag and looking out for bath and shower gift sets to give to my friends for their birthdays. In this post I'll be sharing their latest bodycare, skincare and makeup launches with you.

Pestle & Mortar - Vegan Skincare Without All The Nasties
One of the places I love to visit here in Birmingham is Harvey Nichols in the Mailbox. It's that little bit of pure luxury I sometimes desperately crave. One of my favourite brands in Harvey Nichols is skincare brand Pestle & Mortar. The packaging alone screams pure indulgence but what are the products like? Pestle & Mortar promises to deliver
"Simple Solutions for Beautiful Skin"
with a less is more approach with founder Sonia Deasy's aim to deliver a simple, effective skincare routine. This sounds perfect to me, because with a full-time job, blog and baby on the way, time is something I do not have in the morning. And being in my thirties means that a good skincare routine has become massively important, with anti-ageing really being a thing right now.

Don't worry if you've missed the previous two posts on Jane Iredale and IMAGE Skincare, you can catch up here and here.

Skincare to Makeup Part 2: Image Skincare
If you've been keeping an eye on the blog lately or have been following me on social media, you may have come across me explaining that I am currently doing a three-part series on brands that approach makeup from a skincare point of view, or skincare brands that have recently released a makeup line. Skincare has started to play a very important role in my life, especially as I am in my thirties and ageing skin is a thing. Paying attention to what we put on our face is the trend these days and makeup is no exception. My first post was on mineral makeup brand Jane Iredale, who utilise natural ingredients to get the best out of our skin and be as beautiful as we can be. Don't worry if you've missed the first part of my 'Skincare to Makeup' series, you can find it right here.
This second part is all about skincare brand Image Skincare. Image Skincare focuses on scientific advanced formulas that offer clear results, postponing any signs of ageing as much as we can. Their motto:
"IMAGE now, Age later."
Image Skincare is a brand trusted by professionals but as it is now also available to non-professionals like you and me, I felt it was time to see what we're actually dealing with and whether the products are worth it.
