September is one of my favourite months. It's the month of fashion weeks, fall collections appearing in stores and makeup brands showcasing their new Autumn/Winter lines. In this blog post, I want to introduce you to possibly the most amazing Autumn/Winter collection of one of my all-time favourite makeup brands: the Vivid & Vibrant collection by Stila.
Stila is one of those brands that has just stolen my heart. I can honestly say it's the brand I own most makeup of and a brand of which I wish I could buy every single piece out there! Okay, apart from probably things like a dark brown or black brow pencil, because I'm not so sure that would go with my blonde hair ha! But yes, it's safe to say I love their stuff and it's actually a really affordable brand as well.
Stila have just released their new AW18 collection which is called Vivid & Vibrant, a collection that emphasises the eyes and invites us to be bolder and more daring. Inspired by gemstones, the collection focuses on 6 specific stones: Amethyst, Garnet, Jade, Labradorite, Sapphire and Smoky Quartz. The idea behind this is that people can connect, either because it's their birthstone or simply because they love gemstones. The collection consists of opulent, regal colours which are a symbol of empowering women, something I in particular am a big fan of.

So let's look at the products within the new collection. First up are the Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows (£23) in 6 new shades. You may have seen me rave about these before. The Shimmer & Glow eyeshadows are lightweight, 40% water-infused and packed with pigment. The applicator makes it super easy to apply, even in the smaller areas of the eye, and once dry, there is minimal fallout, yet maximum shimmer. These are by far the best shimmer eyeshadows I've ever tried. I love that there is no mess, they are super long lasting and they are so light, you won't notice that you're wearing any! The six new shades are the perfect addition to the expanding range of colours.

Next to the liquid eyeshadows, Stila has added 6 Vivid & Vibrant Eye Shadow Duo (£18) palettes. The palettes contain a metallic foil-finish shade and one with glitter and shimmering metallic pearls, which adds some wonderful glitter to every look. The texture of the foil shade is absolutely gorgeous, as it's super soft and creamy. With the glitter, be careful to really tap off any excess before applying because there is quite a bit of fallout.
To finish off the eyes, the Vivid & Vibrant collection has two waterproof eyeliners to choose from: the Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner (£14.50), and the Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner (£14.50). Both these eyeliners have been around, but the existing ranges have been extended with 5 Intense and Vivid shades to compliment the eye shadows (every shade apart from Garnet). The waterproof liquid eyeliner is perfect if you like a hard, bold line with that gorgeous flick. The liner comes with a precision felt tip, dries quickly and once dry, it will not budge! If you prefer a softer line, or an eyeliner that can be blended to a smokey eye, you will love the Smudge Stick. The great thing about this eyeliner is that although it blends really well, once set it's just as smudge proof and long-wearing as the liquid liner.

Although the Vivid & Vibrant collection focuses on the eyes, it would not be complete without some gorgeous lippies now would it?! For this collection, Stila have extended their Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick (£16) range with 6 gorgeous new Autumn shades: Fia (Neutral Nude), Vino (Deep Blood Red), Siena (Deep Dusty Rose), Lido (Warm Nude), Forza (Deep Burgundy) and Palermo (Warm Terracotta Nude). The Stay All Day lipsticks are lightweight, super pigmented, incredibly long lasting and have a matte finish. To give you an idea of how well they last: I swatched some colours, let them dry and had to scrub really hard to get them off. I could not get rid of it! Seeing the new shades, I am so excited for the new season as they are just the perfect Autumn colours in a bottle!

To round off the beautiful new Vivid & Vibrant collection, Stila has developed two new highlighters that definitely deserve a place in this range: Heaven's Dew and Heaven's Hue. Heaven's Dew is a very special one as it's a radiant, light catching highlighter but with a twist! It is so pearlescent and glittery, that when you apply it, it creates this gorgeous dewy effect, almost a wet-like finish. It's unlike anything I've ever seen and weird in a way, but so beautiful! The highlighter is also very versatile and can be applied just above the cheekbones, on the eyes or any other part of the body really! Heaven's Dew is available in the shade Silverlake (£22).
Heaven's Hue in the shade Incandescence (£28) on the other hand is a super soft, velvety pink highlighter with a peach/golden shimmer. Completely different from Heaven's Dew, Heaven's Hue offers a very soft illumination for a more natural effect and can almost be used as a blusher rather than a highlighter. The Heaven's Hue range already consisted of 4 shades, but for the new season Incandescence has been added to the list. For me, being someone who prefers a more natural look rather than bold, bright colours, this new highlighter is perfect. I love the subtlety of it and the texture is just ever so soft. It blends beautifully and is gorgeous for everyday wear. If you're looking to lift up your look for the evening, try adding some Heaven's Dew on top for a more dramatic effect.
