Like so many people, I love preparing for Christmas around this time of year, and what better way to do this than with a good Christmas wishlist?! This year I decided to devote my wishlist to John Lewis and the invitation to the Brum Bloggers John Lewis Christmas Event a few weeks ago was the perfect way to prepare. John Lewis offer a great variety of amazing gifts but as I can't possibly begin to list all of them, I have selected my top 10 for you! I must note that this list will be more aimed at beauty (I am a beauty blogger after all!) but I have added some other bits to add some variety to the mix.
I am so excited about the first item on my list! Twinkly App Controlled Lights are Christmas lights that can be completely controlled by an app on your phone or tablet. They contain a string of LED lights that can change pretty much into any colour you can think of, and apart from changing the colour you can add interchanging patterns. LED lights are super energy efficient, have a long lifespan and are durable. Another great thing about this set is that the lights can be use for indoor and outdoor use. Amazing right?! The 13.5m starter set costs £65. A longer set and add on set are also available.
I have grouped the next two items together - Marc Jacobs 'The Sex Kitten' and 'TheNight Owl' Christmas Cracker gift sets. These two little sets are perfect for any makeup addict! Sex Kitten (£13) contains minis of Le Marc Lip Crème and Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. Night Owl (£24) contains a full size Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, a travel size waterproof liquid eyeliner in black and a travel size eyeliner crayon in black. Perfect for travelling or if you want to try out some Marc Jacobs beauty items without splurging straight away.
Marc Jacobs are really bringing it this Christmas and I just had to add a couple more of their wonderful Christmas gift sets. The Marc Jacobs Cats Meow set is a 5-piece collection of mini Le Marc Lip Crème lipsticks that come with a gorgeous leopard-print pouch to store them in. I am a big fan of these lipsticks. They are super easy to apply, feel lovely and creamy and are ever so pigmented, the colours are simply stunning! This set offers a great mix of nudes, reds and plums. The colours included are: Sonic Truth (creamy nude), Goddess (deep maraschino), j'Adore (terra cotta blush), Infamous (soft peony) and Currant Mood (currant red). At £37, I think this set is a great steal.
If lipstick is not your thing and you are more of a lipgloss girl, be sure to add the Marc Jacobs Snake Charmer Lip Lacquer set to your list! This set contains 5 gorgeous shades of the Enamored hi-shine lip lacquer lip glosses, all mint-scented. Whether you prefer a nude for the day or want to lift it up to a bright pink or purple for the evening, you will find just what you are looking for in this set! The shades: Ch-Ch-Changes, Sugar Sugar, Skin Deep, Raspberry Beret, Boys Don't Cry. This limited edition set is available for £29, such good value for money.
Next up is a bit of skincare. I have recently started to try a bit of Liz Earle and so far I am loving their products! They are ever so luxurious and their gift sets look amazing. The one I have picked for this list is a set that I think we need in our lives. I don't know about you, but during this time of year when the days are getting shorter, I struggle to wake up and so do my eyes. Dark circles and puffiness are pretty much a daily thing at the moment. The Liz Earle Hey Bright Eyes Eye Cream Set (£31.45) is perfect if you are suffering like me. The set contains the Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion, Superskin Eye Cream and a soft white headband. Everything you need for a pamper evening, giving your eyes that extra bit of care they need.
When I think of Christmas and giftsets, gorgeous bottles of perfume spring to mind. One that fits right in, is the new Tiffany & Co Eau de Parfum. I absolutely love Tiffany & Co and their fragrance smells so lovely. It has top notes of mandarin, and at the heart is the iris flower. It smells really refreshing and what I love most about this scent is that when it dries it becomes a bit warmer and muskier but not too strong. The Eau de Parfum is available in three sizes: 30ml (£43.16), 50ml (£59.76) and 100ml (£83).
I don't want to leave out the men completely in this blog post, so if you are looking for a nice gift for men, try the Christmas edition of Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male (£53.54 per 100ml). This has been such an iconic fragrance for men throughout the years, I remember it was one of the first fragrances my brother bought when he was younger. I love how they have added a touch of Christmas to the packaging.
Christmas would not be the same without glorious food and drink. In terms of food John Lewis has some great choices. If you love prosecco like I do, you have to try the Prestat Popping Pink Prosecco White Chocolate truffles (£14). I can tell you they are to die for! Another great option is the Prosecco Panettone (£15).
To add a festive drink and close off my top 10, I have chosen a very special one. Unicorn Tears Gin Liqueur does not only look gorgeous and full of shimmer, it tastes amazing and is the perfect after dinner liqueur for me. Unicorn Tears Gin comes in a bottle of 50cl and costs £40. I just love the way it swirls around when you shake it!
I hope this post has put you in that Christmas mood. Thank you for reading!
These some amazing things here, I would love the Tiffany perfume and Prostate Popping Pink Prosecco White Chocolate truffles and I love John Lewis, it always has great items.
