I am so excited to share this weeks blog post with you, as it's all about Disney's Beauty and the Beast. As you may be aware, this Friday is the release date of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. No classic Disney picture this time, but the non-animated version starring the lovely Emma Watson as Belle. I've seen the trailer and it looks amazing. I can't wait to see it.
Whether it was Beauty and the Beast, or Aladdin, I've always loved everything Disney really. There is something so magical about it. When I found out that they were releasing a new Beauty and the Beast movie, I got quite excited. Especially when I found out that L'Oréal Paris were dedicating a makeup collection to it!

I randomly came across it one evening, whilst scrolling through numerous beauty related pages on the internet, as you do! I read an article on the Glamour and Cosmopolitan websites, talking about the release of the movie and makeup but learned quickly enough that the gorgeous collection would only be available through Amazon Italy. I didn't let that stop me though and decided to pre-order two lipsticks and nail polishes! Glad I placed the order that night because the next day half of it was already sold out!
Lumiere and the Rose Lipstick and Nail Polish |
So the L'Oréal Paris Beauty and the Beast collection consists of seven shades of lipstick, all part of the Color Riche collection, and seven shades of nail polish to accompany the lipsticks. Each set of lipstick and nail polish represents one of the main characters of Beauty and the Beast.
I ended up going for Lumiere and the Rose.
The Lumiere Collection |
The Lumiere set consists of shade 231 for the lipstick called Sepia Silk and number 116 nail polish, Cafe de Nuit. Both these colours are nude shades, with the lipstick being slightly brown with a shimmer. Beautiful, natural colours that represent the famous candlestick.
The Rose Collection |
The set representing the Rose is formed of lipstick shade number 335 Carmin St Germain and number 110 Crystal nail polish, which stand for the red rose and the glass dome it sits in.
I am a big fan of the Color Riche collection. It's one of the few types of lipsticks that has the right consistency for me. The lipsticks are highly pigmented and so soft and creamy, making them super easy to wear. They are great for everyday wear, are pretty long lasting and they don't dry out my lips at all.

The nail polishes are pretty decent as well. They apply easily and if you apply two layers and a top coat, I find that it lasts long enough and provides enough cover. Overall a pretty good deal for mid range makeup.
I am really happy with my purchase, but before I give you my final verdict I do need to share one tiny bit of criticism. When I saw the images of the makeup on Amazon, my eyes were drawn to the beautiful packaging. I must admit I was slightly disappointed when I received my order and saw that the design is actually just a paper sticker! I do believe that L'Oréal Paris could have paid a little bit more attention to detail here, however that really is the only tiny thing I can fault on this collection.
So is this set as glamorous as the internet made it out to be? Yes, I think it is. I love the makeup and the design is gorgeous, even if it is just a sticker.
You can find the complete L'Oréal Paris Beauty and the Beast collection on Amazon Italy - find the lipsticks here and the nail polishes here.
