Christmas Beauty Gift Guide 2020

Can you believe that Christmas is less than a month away?! To say that 2020 has been a strange year would be the understatement of the century! But even though this year might as well be cancelled, I am still looking forward to Christmas and I hope you are too. To get you in the mood and hopefully help you find something nice for your loved ones, I've put together a little beauty gift guide. In this guide, you'll find makeup, skincare and bodycare for all budgets. Have a read and hopefully it will make you feel inspired.🎄

Makeup

Of all the beauty you can buy someone for Christmas, makeup is one of the easier options in my opinion. I mean, who doesn't love a bit of makeup? (Ok, I'm sure there are some of you out there!) And gift options come in all shapes and sizes too, whether you're looking for a stocking filler or want to go all out. With so much to choose from, it can get a little overwhelming so I have selected four options to give you an idea and a place to start.

First up is a brand that is fun and always offers great gift sets for Christmas. Meet the Enchanted Wonderland Makeup Collection* by Too Faced. An amazing set of three palettes, each containing six beautiful, pigmented eyeshadows and two blusher shades, plus a travel size of their famous Better Than Sex mascara. It has everything you need if you are relatively new to makeup and want to experiment or if you are an eyeshadow junkie wanting to add to your collection. The colours of the palettes range from cool smokey shades, to warm nudes and pinks, so there really is a colour for everyone. The shades cover mattes, shimmers and glitters, allowing you to take your looks from day to night in a heartbeat.

You can gift the set as a whole, or why not purchase the set and use the palettes as individual stocking fillers?

Next is one of my favourite luxury makeup brands: Trinny London. Trinny London is a British premium beauty brand that offers creamy, versatile products that are stackable, clickable and portable. The great thing about Trinny is that you can buy their products individually or as part of a set, which allows you to mix and match colours in whichever way you like.

This year as part of their gifting collection, Trinny London has introduced their limited edition Lip & Cheek T-Tone pots which contain Lip2Cheek and Lip Glow in complementary shades. The set pictured above is the On The Go set* which contains the Lip & Cheek T-Tone pot in Phoebe + Cordy (there are 4 colour duos to choose from), presented in the beautiful limited edition 'The Elizabeth' bag. Perfect for travelling and because they are all cream-based products, they are super easy to apply and blend with your fingers. This is definitely a luxury gift that works for all ages and would look great under every Christmas tree.

A brand I wanted to throw in the mix is Nabla, an Italian indie brand that offers high-quality, effective products that are super affordable. Their Cutie collection is exactly that: cute. Part of the collection are five eyeshadow palettes, four stylos (eye crayons) and three lipsticks of which I've got the Wild Berry set. As far as I am aware, you can't buy them as the set shown in the picture above, however, they are worth checking out individually because they are so affordable and such great quality. Perfect for your makeup-loving cousin or any other makeup addict for that matter.

**Beauty Bay are currently offering 30% off until midnight Sunday 29/11/20**

Finally the Nars Mini Afterglow Lip Balm Duo. A cute stocking filler that contains two shades of tinted lip balms - Fast Lane and Orgasm. I adore these balms and they are perfect during the winter months. They give you that 'natural lips but better' look. What's also great is that these minis come in the original metal cases just like the full-size ones, which gives them that luxurious feel.

Skincare

Moving onto skincare and I am so proud to share three of my favourite brands with you. Starting with Algenist, a brand that uses Alguronic Acid derived from algae as the main ingredient in their products. They are cruelty-free and vegan and focus on ingredients that work. I have been a fan of Algenist since I first tried their Genius Sleeping Collagen a year and a half ago and have loved every single product I've tried since. Algenist definitely falls under luxury skincare, so the products do come with a price tag but are worth every penny in my opinion.

For this gift guide, I've chosen to share the Secrets of Algae Kit* which is the perfect way to try Algenist without breaking the bank. The set contains a full-size bottle of the GENIUS Liquid Collagen (30ml) which is worth £90 alone. Other products include GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream (15ml), Complete Eye Renewal Balm (7ml) and GENIUS Sleeping Collagen (15ml). The total value of the set is £155.65.

RRP: £90 - Available at Cult Beauty and FeelUnique

ARK Skincare is an award-winning, British brand, that has a unique approach to skincare. Rather than focussing on skin type and develop their products around that, ARK Skincare offers a range based on age, daily essentials such as an SPF and treatments to target specific concerns. Their products are vegan, cruelty-free and made with natural ingredients.

Every year ARK offers a great selection of gifts ranging from stocking fillers to full sets. I've picked out two little stocking fillers that I think are such a good way to introduce someone to the brand. The Age Defend Mini Duo* is aimed at those in their 30s and 40s and contains the Age Defend Conditioning Cleanser (30ml) and the Age Defend Replenishing Moisturiser (30ml). The Skin Essential Mini Duo* contains the Hydrating Beauty Mist (50ml) and the Pre Cleanse & Make-Up Remover (50ml). Both are presented in a nice gift box.

**ARK Skincare is currently offering 30% off as part of Black Friday on selected products while stocks last**

Last but by no means least is Murad, another brand I have fallen in love with ever since I tried their products. Created in 1989, Murad was the first brand of clinical skincare products, offering high-performance skincare. Their motto:  “Stress less. Be imperfect. Live longer.”—Dr. Howard Murad, Founder. I think we can all use a little bit less stress right now!

As with Algenist, Murad is a luxury brand so I appreciate that not everyone might be in a position to try their full-size products. However, Christmas is the perfect time to have a look at their gift sets, because they are offering some great stocking fillers. One of them being the You Dew You set* which contains the Nutrient-Charged Water Gel (15ml) and the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (30ml). The set has a value of £21 and is the perfect place to start for a skincare newbie or an easy travel size for those who already have an elaborate skincare routine.

RRP: £15 - Available at FeelUnique and Lookfantastic

Bodycare

I wanted to include bodycare because everyone deserves a good pamper and there are such gorgeous products out there. Take this fragrance for instance by Potion Paris*. The packaging is giving me all the Louboutin feels and screams luxe. It's beautifully made and comes in a nice storage box that looks amazing on every vanity. The fragrance itself comes in small glass bottles (see picture above), that can be inserted into the big bottle. You get two small vials per pack. I love this idea because it means that you can easily swap and change, adapting your fragrance to your mood or time of year.

If you're not entirely sure what scent to go for, Potion Paris also offers a discovery set* that contains samples of 7 of their signature fragrances. A great way to test the waters, see what you (or the person you're buying for) like before splurging and buying the full-size fragrance. And the great thing is, if you purchase the discovery set, you get a £20 voucher included to go towards your full-size fragrance purchase. (Voucher must be redeemed within 2 months)

**Use code ABPPV10 from midnight 27/11/2020 - midnight 29/11/2020 and receive a 10% discount**

I'm ending my gift guide with a very useful gift by Friction Free Shaving (FFS). FFS is a brand that offers a razor subscription service that allows you to have new, sharp razors through your letterbox at a fraction of the price that you pay for blades in-store. They are environmentally friendly with their razor blade recycling service and the handles are made from high-quality metal rather than the plastic ones you see in the shops.

If a subscription service is not your thing, FFS are currently offering a range of gift sets like the Small Shaving Set Rose*. This set contains a rose gold razor handle, 4 blade heads with 6 blades each, shave cream, a clamshell blade protector, shower holder and travel pouch. To add a personal touch, you can have the razor handle engraved for free with up to 12 characters and get the set gift wrapped.

**Use code BEAUTYONREVIEW if you're signing up for the subscription service and get 25% off the first set of blades** (affiliated)

So that's my small selection for you from the big world of beauty. All products have been tried and tested by myself and I absolutely adore them so hopefully, this has inspired you and helped you find something special for those you love.

As always thank you so much for reading and feel free to leave a comment below if you have any comments, questions or suggestions.
